>>> Shiri Azenkot: Next, we're on to the dangerous part of the day. So this is where we are going to all try our XR experience. So, of course, as we know, the whole premise of this initiative of XR Access is that there are currently a lot of accessibility challenges with XR technology. So we're going to take this opportunity to together explore all of these accessibility challenges. We've done our best to provide accommodations, but let's recommend the premise of this exercise is really to get a chance to learn together about all of the challenges and opportunities that are present today in Mozilla Hubs. In this particular VR technology. Before I move any further, I want to give a very special thanks to Dylan Fox who has put a lot of work into making this happen and it would not have been possible without him. So, thank you, Dylan. So, to introduce the Mozilla Hubs and this activity for us, I知 very happy to introduce Elgin-Skye McLaren, the community and events manager at Mozilla. >> Elgin McLaren: Hi, there. Are you able to hear me okay? Hello, can you hear me? Okay. I see. Hi. I am Elgin McLaren, the events manager at Mozilla. Thanks to Dylan for reaching out about using Hubs for this event. I知 super excited to get your folks' feedback on Mozilla Hubs. So Hubs is an open-source program. It's been around I think for a couple years now even. You know, it started off as a real experimental technology and we've been growing ever, ever since. And it's really fun to see what people are doing with it now. You can actually take Mozilla Hubs, make your own totally customized version, self-post it. All the avatars are customizable. Really take our core code and do with it what you want. It makes it really easy to share different media files, so, for example, if you wanted to share pdf files, images, et cetera, movies, screen captures and whatnot. What I think is kind of the most fun part about Mozilla Hubs is that it's just, like, a bit -- you can do really fun things you couldn't do necessarily on, like, a video chat. And one of the other things that's really great about getting together in Hubs is you do have spatialized audio, if you're standing closer to someone, you can hear them louder than people who are further away from you and can break out into conversations that might be a little more natural for having different conversations. Having sort of casual networking events, for example. So my understanding for this event, which I知 super excited to be involved with, you know, the Hubs events are not going to be -- it's really going to be getting to know other people, et cetera. And kind of playing with the technology a little bit and, you know, I really look forward to hearing what you folks think of it. A few kind of housekeeping notes, you should be able to join Mozilla Hubs from the browser on your desktop computer if you want and join the stream from your mobile phone or from your headset. I知 going to be diligently watching these slack #mozilla-hubs channels for any tech questions you folks might have, that you're having any problems, please let me know. If you're on a desktop or mobile phone, all you need to do to get into the experience is just click through on the link that is in the document that Dylan has prepared for us. If you're on quest, there's already been a few questions in the Slack channel about how to get on. So you could if you're feeling very patient, you can type out the full url, but if you don't feel like doing that, you can also find a short code by clicking on the enter instead VR button which is when you open up the link, that will show up at the bottom of the page. Then that will allow you to access in your ocular quest at the hub link, you can enter in the code. We have instructions on how to do that in the Slack channel already because there have been some questions about that. A few other little housekeeping things, while you're inside of the space, if you're on a desktop computer, you can move around using the WASN keys. No matter what device you're on, we have a sort of menus that you have access to that might not be super obvious when you first get in so we're working on building a new tutorial for this to make it a little easier. If you point at someone inside of the VR space using your controller or using your cursor and press the space key, you will have options for volume controls for those people which will let you turn up the volume or turn them down, which can be really helpful if you're in a busy environment and trying to have a conversation with someone. Can't quite see them and you want to hear them a bit louder. So I値l post, again, instructions on how to do that in the slack channel to make sure that's nice and clear for everyone. But, yeah, one of the things I just wanted to mention is that we're working super actively on Hubs at the moment. We've actually just got a few engineers who joined our development team a few days ago. And so we're working on, you know, animated features, all the time, so Dylan has very kindly -- or the folks at XR Access have very kindly created a survey to get your feedback on your Hubs experience and we would certainly love to hear from you because, you know, we're constantly working on building this product and do have accessibility tags. So we're marking accessibility concerns and issues and we're trying to prioritize them as well. So we're just in the middle of doing planning for our next quarter. Any advice you have for us would be super valuable. So a little bit more information, so when you actually want to join into the space, so if you go to the document that Dylan has prepared you'll notice there are a lot of different spaces that you can go into, so there is a bit of a size limitation for Hubs rooms which is why there is quite a few places you can -- quite few rooms that are open at the moment. So just start clicking around to some of the different rooms. If you find that they're full, go into the next one. You'll be able to socialize with people in the space. The maximum is 24, some are set lower for 12 people. It depends on the room you go into. Dylan has done a great job of dividing those all up. Poke around to different rooms to see if you can find other folks. Anyone is welcome to join any room. And I believe that there will be special accommodations available in some of them as well. So, Dylan has provided a really nice sort of overview in the slack channel #mozilla-hubs. So please do check that out. I will be here to answer any questions and I知 really excited to meet with some of you folks today. >> Voiceover: The Mozilla Hubs experiment is now in session. We'll be back at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time to wrap up day one.
